This fountain is made of ceramic/fiberglass. The ball has small speckles in the coloring and a solid green base. The base of the fountain is the reservoir for your water. The solar panel that comes with the fountain can be put as far as 15 feet away from the fountain hidden in your garden. No electricity with solar so this is a fountain that runs cost free. Just place your solar panel in the sun, the pump in the water and you have a soothing meditation fountain with great feng shui chi.
Loose stones can be put just below the ball for an interesting trickling sound.
This pump kit can be upgraded with a battery pack that will keep your fountain running for 3 or 4 hours after the sun goes down.
In the picture, the ball looks shiny, it is not. It has a matte, rustic finish.
